Born in Dallas Texas on July 28, 1951, Buddy Rose began his career as a caricaturist in 1971 at Six Flags Over Texas. Buddy received his first lessons in caricaturing from his father at age five. After completing his studies in Philosophy at The University of North Texas, Buddy also received an art degree from The University of Texas at Dallas graduating 'cum laude' in 1979.

During the 1970's Buddy taught the art of caricature at major theme parks throughout the United States. Many of today's modern caricaturists are students of Buddy Rose. In 1979 RCA Global Communications commissioned Buddy to demonstrate the forerunner of the modern fax machine at the International Telecommunications Convention in Geneva, Switzerland. Buddy's caricatures became the first to travel around the world via fax as the drawings were relayed from Geneva to Tokyo, to San Francisco, to New York, and then back to Geneva while the customers watched on. There, Buddy drew numerous heads of state, and other dignitaries.

In addition to drawing more than half a million faces over his career, Buddy includes among his credits the creation of the world's only international trade organization dedicated to professional caricaturists. Known as the National Caricaturist Network Buddy's organizational skills proved indispensable to the growth of the organization. Today the NCN boasts an international membership of more than 400 members.  In July of 1993 Buddy was featured in American Artist magazine in the 'Success Stories' section for his efforts in creating the NCN.
